The Harbisons

November 10, 2017

Justin, Emily and Ella. Plus, cute dogs and a gorgeous home.

Their older dog, Riley, got to have his own shoot. The little guy isn’t doing super great and they wanted to document him around the house. He was such a sweetie.

Adler Day

November 8, 2017

Today felt like the perfect one to introduce our daughter’s name to the world…

I’ve been told, and I know it to be true, that I’m a lucky lady to have had such amazing mothers in my life. My first, Vicki Adler, who we lost to cancer when I was 9 on November 8th, 23 years ago today. And my Mama now, DeeDee Day, who has been the best Mom in the world since she became mine when I was a horrible 6th grader. A brave one, my Mom

Friends since they were little girls, I am beyond blessed to have been showered in stories about Vicki from DeeDee, to have known and loved both families my entire life, and to be reminded of how great her laugh was among so many other things that I just can’t remember. It’s one long, too much for social media story, but it’s my favorite and it’s mine. And it gets to be passed on to our little girl…

Named after both my Mamas, ADLER DAY. In memory of a mother lost and a mother who I can’t thank enough for being who she is. I can’t wait for her to become a part of this beautiful family!

Folloder Family

October 11, 2017

Last week I received an out of the blue call from one of my oldest friends, Stacia. We grew up around the corner from each other and were fast friends starting in Elementary school (go Kuehnle Koalas!) Through tears, Stacia was calling to let me know that she’d been diagnosed with Stage III, Triple Negative Breast Cancer and wanted to book a family session prior to starting chemo and losing her hair. The weight of this news and request was not light on me, and on Saturday I did my best to capture a peak into her and Daniel’s life with their two children, Levi (3) and Sloan (3 months). These are some of my favorites from the morning.

Stacia – the Fontenots are with and for you! If you happen to know Stacia (or even if you don’t and you just want to join in the fight against this hated disease), you can support her by purchasing one of these shirts. All proceeds with go to cancer research via MD Anderson in Stacia’s honor. Go kick it’s ass, girl!

Brother and sister Miles and Tara wanted to wear their Aspire Soccer Club kits to wrap up their shoot. I ate it up! They played and I only made them stop twice for these two portraits – my favorites from the my shoot with them.

Baby Girl Fontenot!

October 5, 2017

Yesterday we popped bottles for nine years of marriage and a little BABY GIRL that’s gonna wreck our hearts come March!

I am much less terrified than I once was to have a daughter and I can hardly handle the thought of how great of a father Mark will be to one. It was such a perfect anniversary gift to have our 18 week ultrasound this week. We’re toasting (half glass for me) to a great report and this marriage that is my very favorite thing. In the words of Ted Mosby, “love is the best thing we do.” Let’s keep at it, babe.

Manchester Derby

July 27, 2017

Manchester United vs Manchester City. The Derby. Or, to Mancunians, the Darby. As two of the best clubs in the English Premier League, Man Utd and City have a rivalry that dates back to 1881. The Derby has taken place 173 times between the two clubs and the match in Houston was the first one played outside of the United Kingdom in their 136-year history.

Needless to say I, a Man Utd fan since middle school (hi, David Beckham!), freaked out when the announcement of this match took place. I bought pre-sale tickets and had it marked on my calendar in bold font for months…

And then, a week before the game, through a kind recommendation from my friend and fellow photographer Christian, I was on the phone with Soccer.com. I booked the gig to shoot pre-match content for City (and vowed not to wear a United shirt) as well as the Derby itself. It was the experience of a lifetime for me, and I’m so grateful to have had it. I’m not as diehard into the rivalry as most fans, being a fan of the overall League and someone who has huge respect for City and and their roster. It was all fun, all the time. But yes, I was pretty happy about the 2-0 United victory! And maybe even happier that I was, for a brief minute, mere feet from Drake as he presented the game ball. Here are the highlights from a night I’ll never forget!

J.J. Watt.

Drake looking deep into my soul and me, behind the lens, trying to keep it together.

The Manchester worker bee is on the city’s coat of arms and represents the industrial heritage of the region. It’s been used as a symbol of strength following the Manchester Arena attack in May, and the two teams wore custom shirts at the match in a show of solidarity for the victims.
