And an appearance from Knox! Or, the most embarassed dog on the planet. We love these friends so much.

Southerners and Their Dogs
I’m so excited to finally announced a “pet project” by all definitions that I’ve been working on for months with Jess Graves!
Southerners and Their Dogs.
This is a photo and writing project featuring the South’s most interesting men and women – chefs, musicians, writers, makers, designers, etc. – and their canine companions.
I’ve shot some of my favorite portraits ever doing this – like the one here of musician Tedo Stone, Conrad and Lady Bird). And there is so much more to come! We’ll continue to photograph, interview and update the site as we go (words by Jess, photos by me).
Make sure to follow us on Instagram for more photos and outtakes!

Tyler + Kristen
I exploited my hawt friends on a recent winery trip as an excuse to shoot my new baby, the Mamiya 645.
It was a really good idea.

Austin Edwards
Austin Edwards | Atlanta, GA.
Austin is the Made to Measure Specialist at Atlanta’s Suitsupply.
I’ve photographed him twice for Back Down South – here and here.
These are two outtakes from the later post.
Nelson in the Headlights
This is Nelson Barringer.
He is my cousin and he has one of the kindest hearts I’ll ever know.
Photographed in Dallas, Texas.
Mark in the Headlights
When the new year started, I told myself that I should be making more portraits of people that I love.
That desire has finally led to this photo, the first of a portrait series I’ve appropriately named IN THE HEADLIGHTS.
Mark, of course, was first.
The Patchell Family, Part II
I’m becomming a huge fan of this growing tradition: shoot the Patchell family, send the boys off with a babysiter, go to dinner with Jason and Lindsey, eat great food, drink wine, laugh and cry, go to a bar and laugh some more.
We love y’all.
